How to measure & install
Getting the size right is the most important step. Take five minutes with a tape measure — and if anything is unclear, send us a photo of your wall on WhatsApp and we will check it with you before you order.
1. Measure the area
- Width: measure the wall from left to right at the top, middle and bottom. Use the smallest number.
- Height: measure from the countertop (or stovetop) up to the bottom of the cabinets or range hood, on the left, middle and right. Use the smallest number.
- Subtract about 1/8" (3 mm) from each measurement. The small gap makes fitting easy and allows for slightly uneven walls.
- Choose the closest listed size on the product page, or message us for an exact custom size.
2. Mark outlets and switches
If the panel covers an outlet or switch, we cut an opening for it. For each one, measure:
- from the left edge of the panel area to the center of the outlet, and
- from the bottom edge (countertop) to the center of the outlet.
Send these numbers with your order number on WhatsApp or to sale@getbacksplash.com. A quick photo with the tape measure in view helps us double-check.
3. Not sure about colors? Start with a sample
Every design is available as a 6"x6" sample for $19.99, so you can see the print, the glass and the colors in your own kitchen light. Message us with your sample order number when you order your full-size panel and we will credit the $19.99 back.
4. Installation
Most customers install their panel themselves in under an hour — no tile removal and no contractor.
- Clean and dry the wall. The panel mounts over most smooth, existing surfaces (paint, old tile, drywall).
- Dry-fit the panel first to check the size and cutout positions.
- Apply the mounting option you chose — double-sided mounting tape, neutral-cure clear silicone, or both for extra hold. Use neutral-cure silicone only; acidic silicone can damage the print.
- Press the panel into place and support it from below for 24 hours while the silicone cures.
- Finish the edges with a thin bead of clear silicone if you like a sealed look.
Panels with pre-drilled holes or metal brackets come with screws and brackets. Step-by-step instructions are included with every order.
Care
Wipe with any standard glass cleaner and a soft cloth. No grout to scrub and no sealing — ever.
